Leinster U18 Girls Division 1
Navan 3 Tullamore 15
Saturday 17th January | Balreask Old
Navan U18 Girls produced a committed and spirited performance against a strong Tullamore side in Division 1.
Playing on Pitch 1, Navan dominated large portions of the first half and were rewarded with a Maggie Kerin penalty, giving them a 3–0 lead. The opening half was tight, physical and fiercely contested, with both sides defending strongly. However, Tullamore struck with a try in the final minute before the break to edge ahead 3–5 at half-time.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Navan spending a considerable amount of time inside the Tullamore 22. Credit must go to the visitors’ defence, who held firm under sustained pressure before capitalising late, scoring two tries in the final five minutes to seal a 15–3 victory.
Despite the result, this was a strong performance full of effort and resilience from the Navan girls.
