Boys Youth Teams Return to Action After Festive Break

Navan RFC’s boys youth teams have been swinging back into action over the past week as preparations ramp up for the resumption of competitive rugby.

The Under-16 Boys kicked off the new year with a demanding fitness session over the weekend, blowing away the Christmas cobwebs and setting the tone for the second half of the season. Following their hard work on the training pitch, the squad enjoyed a well-earned team lunch at Alora Brasserie in Navan town centre.

Best of luck to the U16 squad as they return to competitive action in the weeks ahead.

Meanwhile, the Under-18.5 Boys began their post-Christmas preparations for the Leinster Youths Premier campaign with a team-building day in The Curragh, Co. Kildare. The group took part in an excellent outdoor session led by Tom Devereux and Jim McGuire of CollabForce Events, embracing the frosty conditions and winter sunshine on the Curragh plains.

The day concluded with a well-deserved recovery session back in Navan at Urban Sauna Co, rounding off a valuable experience that focused on cohesion, resilience and leadership.

The U18.5’s now turn their attention back to competition, travelling to Wexford Wanderers next Saturday, before returning home to Balreask Old to host Gorey RFC on 17th January.

A strong start to 2026 for Navan RFC’s youth section, with plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
