26 Jun Free Teen Tag Rugby at Navan RFC This Summer!
Looking for a fun way to stay active, try a new sport, and hang out with friends over the summer holidays? Navan RFC, in partnership with our youth development structures, is launching a completely FREE Teen Tag Rugby programme at Balreask Old!
This social programme is open to both boys and girls aged 12 to 18 years old. We are putting out a massive welcome to all new players no prior rugby experience or sports background is necessary. The entire focus of these six weeks is about having fun, learning a few basic handling skills, and making new friends in a completely non-contact, safe environment.
Programme Details
- Start Date: Wednesday, 1st July 2026 (Running weekly for 6 weeks)
- Venue: Navan RFC, Balreask Old (Dublin Road, Navan)
- Cost: 100% FREE of charge!
Age Groups & Times
To make sure games are fair, safe, and balanced, the evening sessions will be split into two separate age categories:
- Group 1 (Ages 12 to 15): Starts at 7PM
- Group 2 (Ages 16 to 18): Starts at 8PM
Why Give Teen Tag a Go?
- Completely Non-Contact: Tag rugby relies on pulling tags from a belt rather than tackling, making it an incredibly accessible game for all fitness levels and abilities.
- No Pressure, Just Fun: There are no intense league tables or formal match stress here, just turn up, socialise and enjoy the summer evenings on the pitches.
- Great for Cross-Training: If you already play GAA, soccer, or other sports, tag is a brilliant way to maintain your summer fitness and sharpen your spatial awareness.
How to Join
There is no complicated registration process or upfront fee required. You can just turn up on the day ready to play! Make sure to wear comfortable sports gear, runners or football boots, and bring a bottle of water.
