Navan 20 De La Salle Palmerston 12

Sunday 15th February 2026 | Balreask Old, Navan

Navan Under 20s secured a hard-earned 20–12 victory over De La Salle Palmerston (DLSP) in a competitive Super Six Group 2 encounter at Balreask Old on Sunday afternoon.

The contest was closely fought throughout, although early injuries to somel DLSP players inevitably had an impact on the flow of the game. Navan capitalised on key opportunities, showing composure and control when it mattered most.

Tries from Caolan Duffy and Lachlan Maguire provided the platform for the home side, with Philip Smyth adding a conversion and a penalty to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

DLSP responded with two tries of their own, including a late interception score during Navan’s final attacking phase. However, it proved only a consolation as Navan had already done enough to secure the win.

The result sees Navan retain fourth place in the group table, keeping them firmly in contention as the Super Six stage progresses.

Player of the Match, sponsored by The Central, was Philip Smyth, whose game management and accuracy from the tee proved influential.
