Navan RFC U14 Girls showed great resilience and determination to come away from Dundalk with a hard-earned 15–5 victory, maintaining their unbeaten start to the Division 2 campaign.
In what proved to be a tough, physical contest, scoring chances were limited for both sides. Navan made the most of an early opportunity when Fiadh Stafford broke down the right wing to score the game’s opening try, giving Navan a 5–0 lead at half-time.
The battle in the middle of the park was fierce throughout, with both teams cancelling each other out as rucks and breakdowns were intensely contested. Navan’s defence remained disciplined and well-organised, matching Dundalk’s physicality and denying them space.
Navan dug deep in the second half and were rewarded for their persistence. Alice Larkin crossed for a well-worked try to extend the lead before Fiadh Stafford added her second of the match, sealing a deserved victory for the visitors.
This result leaves Navan top of the table after three matches, a testament to the squad’s continued progress, work rate and teamwork.
