27 Jan Leinster Women’s League Div 3 – 25th Jan
Kilkenny 24 Navan 10
Sunday 25th January | Foulkstown
Navan RFC Women’s 2nd XV travelled to Foulkstown on Sunday to face Leinster Women’s League Division 3 leaders Kilkenny in a challenging away fixture.
In a contest that demanded plenty of resilience, Navan produced a brave and committed team performance throughout. Kilkenny, however, were able to capitalise on their home advantage, crossing for four tries over the course of the match to secure a 24–10 victory.
Despite the result, there were positives for Navan in terms of work rate and defensive effort against a side currently setting the pace in the division. The squad showed good spirit and will take valuable lessons from the outing as they continue their league campaign.
Attention now turns quickly to their next assignment, with a refixed home fixture against Ashbourne scheduled for Thursday evening at Balreask Old, where Navan will be eager to bounce back in front of home support.
