Message to the Club from the Executive Committee

ONE CLUB, MOVING FORWARD

Priorities for the 2026/27 season

As we look ahead to 2026/27, the Executive Committee is focused on building a club that is ambitious on the pitch, welcoming in the community and secure for the future.

We will deliver this through shared effort, clear communication and a commitment to being One Club.

Navan RFC will strive for the next competitive level, develop a winning style of rugby at every age, deepen our connection with the Meath community and remain financially independent.

OUR SEASON PRIORITIES

RUGBY DEVELOPMENT

The coaching teams are in place, and local talent was prioritised in our recruitment drive. The Navan RFC Player-Centric Pathway from Minis to Senior rugby has been launched. We continue to back the Womens’ team in their promotion ambitions.

RESPECT AND PARTICIPATION

We have published a plan to address abuse of match officials. We will actively encourage and train referees from within the club. We are creating more accessible ways for members to volunteer through sub-committees and parent representation.

FACILITIES THAT SERVE THE CLUB

Drainage improvements have been completed on Pitches 2, 3 and 4. Lighting upgrades for the pitches should be complete before the end of October. The revised gym policy has been published and income initiatives for the gym are being explored. The long bar in the clubhouse was  upgraded. A new front door will be installed by the end of October. We will also assess the feasibility of a synthetic pitch and set out an appropriate development and funding plan.

FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE

The executive has clear annual budgets, cash-flow projections and regular reporting that will support sound decisions. We will strengthen sustainable income through sponsorship, events, club facilities, the shop and other fundraising opportunities.

We would like to welcome a number of new sponsors to the club this season including Joe Duffy Group, Kingspan, Boyne Waste, Joe Norris Motors, Glenveagh Homes and Leapmotor.

Two EV charging points will be installed before Christmas. The club shop continues to grow and new products will be available this year. We plan to enable members to ‘click and collect’ on line.

A new bar committee has been formed. The committee will be encouraging members and their friends to use the bar for parties and celebrations.

COMMUNICATION AND CULTURE

The new website will be the centre of club communication and transactions. More regular Executive updates, a refreshed newsletter and a dedicated feedback route will help keep members informed and involved. The website will continue to evolve this year including a member feedback page.

Social Media will continue to support our digital communication strategy.

LONG-TERM DIRECTION

Work will begin on a framework for Navan RFC’s next 10-year strategy, helping the club make purposeful decisions well beyond this season.

WHAT MEMBERS CAN EXPECT

During the season, we will publish the Player-Centric Pathway, club organisation and sub-committee structure, gym policies, capital plans and further progress updates on the website. Specific projects will proceed in line with approved plans, funding and operational priorities.

Our values, respect, volunteerism, high standards, leadership, individuality, diversity and enjoyment, will guide every part of this work.

Thank you to every player, parent, coach, official, volunteer, supporter and sponsor who helps make Navan RFC what it is.
