05 Jul Navan RFC Adult Men’s Pre-Season Kicks-Off on 14th July
The dawn of a highly anticipated new rugby era at Balreask Old is officially here. Following a busy summer of administrative planning, facility upgrades, and elite coaching appointments, Navan RFC is delighted to announce that pre-season training for our Adult Men’s squads will officially commence on Tuesday 14th July 2026.
With the IRFU’s recent announcement of the newly restructured Energia All-Ireland League (AIL) Division 2B North Conference, there is a renewed sense of purpose and excitement across the club. Under the leadership of our incoming Men’s Head Coach Dan Van Zyl, we are ready to hit the ground running.
Four Competitive Squads: A Place for Every Player
Navan RFC is proud to remain one of the premier rugby hubs in the Leinster North-East region. For the 2026/27 season, we are fielding four distinct adult men’s teams, ensuring that every player, from elite athletes to casual weekend warriors has a squad tailored to their experience and commitment levels:
- Men’s Senior 1st XV: Competing at the highest amateur level in the Energia All-Ireland League (AIL) Division 2B North Conference.
- Men’s J1 (2nd) XV: Providing high-intensity provincial competitive rugby and a direct pathway into the senior squad.
- Men’s J3 (3rd) XV: Perfect for players looking for strong, competitive junior rugby with a fantastic social culture.
- Men’s 4th XV (Under 23’s) — NEW FOR 2026/27!
Introducing Our Brand-New Men’s Under 23s Squad
A major strategic development this season is the launch of our Men’s 4th (Under 23’s) XV team. This squad has been specifically designed to further bridge the gap between youth rugby and the adult game, offering a fantastic competitive outlet for younger adult Men’s players in the wider County Meath & Leinster North-East areas.
To ensure the highest standard of development, this squad will be fully guided and overseen by our established, record-setting Men’s Under 20’s coaching and management group. Whether you are a recent youth graduate, a student returning home, or someone looking to pull the boots back on, you are welcome here.
