07 Aug Navan RFC Players Selected for Leinster Interpro Openers
Congratulations to Navan RFC Women’s players Rosie Searle, Alex Connor, and Shona White, who have been named by Head Coach Sana Govender in the Leinster Women’s matchday squad! They will take on Munster in the opening round of the 2026 Vodafone Interprovincial Championship tomorrow, Saturday, 8th August, at Virgin Media Park, Cork (KO: 2:30 PM, live on the Spórt TG4 YouTube channel).
All the players have been busy training hard within the extended squad over the last number of weeks, and their dedication has paid off:
- Rosie Searle starts at blindside flanker.
- Shona White—who incredibly only picked up a rugby ball for the first time just over two years ago—is named among the front-row replacements as a potential debutant.
- Alex Connor also awaits her first senior cap, providing crucial scrum-half cover off the bench.

Emma O’Rourke Named in U-18 Girls Squad
Elsewhere, the club is thrilled to announce that Navan RFC youth player Emma O’Rourke has been named by Head Coach Charlie Doel in the Leinster Under-18 Girls team for Saturday’s opening clash with Munster (KO: 5:30 PM) in the 2026 PwC U18 Girls Interprovincial Series.
The game will take place at Virgin Media Park, Cork, immediately following the conclusion of the Senior Leinster clash with Munster in the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship.
Leinster are looking for a third title in a row after going unbeaten in back-to-back seasons. Emma is poised to make a massive impact, having already been a pivotal figure in the Leinster squad that stormed to victory in last year’s Championship.
Speaking ahead of this summer’s fixtures, Head Coach Charlie Doel noted the high standards of the province: “There is always pressure to win because you are Leinster. That drive comes from within the club and what it has achieved. I would like to think producing a cohort of players that progress on to the Senior team is the number one goal for me. I would also want the players to develop, learn and enjoy the programme to grow their love of rugby.”
