26 Sep Navan RFC Team Announced for AIL Opener Against Skerries
Head Coach Dan Van Zyl has officially named his Navan RFC Men’s 1st XV matchday squad for the opening round of the Energia All-Ireland League Division 2B North season away to Skerries RFC this Saturday afternoon at Holmpatrick (2:30 PM Kick-off).
Following an intense pre-season and Senior Pennant campaign, the squad is primed to launch their national league journey on a positive note against familiar Leinster North-East rivals.
Center Ben McEntagart captains the side for the league opener, with prop Gary Faulkner taking on vice-captaincy duties in a strong, hard-hitting front row alongside Alex McGoey and Fionn Craik.
Second-row Koen Jansen joins Eoghan Noonan in the engine room, while a dynamic back row of Callum Breeds, Ewan Groenewald, and Niall Hurley provides firepower in the loose.
In the half-backs, Kit Waddington partners Philip Smyth, with Shaun O’Reilly pairing up with Captain McEntagart in midfield. Speedsters Luke Bryan and Greg Edogun occupy the wings, with Shane Walshe linking up at full-back.
