10 Sep Navan RFC’s Men’s 1st’s set for Leinster Senior Pennant Final at Energia Park
Navan RFC’s Men’s 1st XV will compete for senior club silverware this Saturday, 12th September, when they face Bective Rangers in the Leinster Senior Pennant Final at Energia Park, Donnybrook (Kick-off 1:30 PM).
In a promising early sign under new Men’s Head Coach Dan Van Zyl, Navan booked their place in the decider following an impressive eight-try 52-19 victory over Monkstown FC at Balreask Old last weekend to top their round-robin group.
Saturday’s fixture marks a significant milestone for the County Meath club, representing the Men’s 1st XV’s first competition final appearance since earning promotion to the All-Ireland League (AIL) and senior club ranks 17 years ago in 2009. Outside of their AIL Division 2C league crown in 2017, it is the first cup decider for the Men’s 1st’s since their All-Ireland Junior Cup defeat to Tullamore in 2009 and follows on from the recent success of the Women’s 1st XV.
The Pennant Final kicks off an exciting triple-header in Donnybrook, followed by the Senior League Final (Blackrock College vs. Naas at 3:30 PM) and the Senior Cup Final (Lansdowne vs. St. Mary’s College at 5:30 PM).
Entry is ticketed via Universe (€10 Adults, €5 Kids/OAPs).
