Navan RFC Under 16 Boys delivered a strong team performance to defeat Midland Warriors RFC and progress to the next round of the Leinster U16 Boys Plate.

Despite challenging conditions on a scrappy, boggy pitch, and with 13 players unavailable, the squad showed great resilience and commitment, sticking to their team theme of “Positive Energy and Game Winning Attitude.”

Ben Greif was outstanding, scoring a hat-trick and earning Player of the Match for his excellent all-round performance.

Evan Lynch added two tries, including an impressive solo effort from the kick-off where he gathered possession and ran the length of the pitch to score.

Seán Masterson converted three tries, controlling the game well from fly-half alongside scrum-half Sam Friel.

The forwards, led by captain Danny Farrell, worked tirelessly to secure quality possession, allowing the backs to capitalise with well-worked attacking moves out wide.

Logan Horan made his first start for Navan after taking up rugby last year at Beaufort College and joining the club this season.

The bench made a strong impact, with Riley Thompson coming on at flanker, Cody Negi adding energy in the centre, and Daniel McCaughey providing sharp service at scrum-half.

A fantastic result and performance from the squad, showing determination, teamwork and belief to progress in the competition.
