22 Apr Navan U17 Boys Power Into Culliton Cup Final
Leinster Youth Boys Under 17 Culliton Cup – Semi-Final
Navan 24 Midland Warriors 8
Saturday 18th April | Mullingar RFC
Navan RFC Under 17 Boys secured their place in the final of the Leinster Youth Boys Under 17 Culliton Cup with a composed 24–8 victory over Midland Warriors RFC in Mullingar on Saturday.
In a disciplined and well-controlled performance, Navan outscored their opponents by four tries to one, adding two conversions while maintaining a strong defensive structure throughout.
Midland Warriors made the brighter start, opening the scoring with an early penalty to lead 3–0. Navan took time to settle into the game, with both sides showing physicality in defence and intensity at the breakdown.
The breakthrough came in the second quarter, as Navan turned sustained pressure into a key score to take the lead. From that point, they began to assert control, improving their ball retention and building momentum through sharp attacking phases.
Midland Warriors responded with a determined try to keep the contest alive, but Navan remained composed. Their defensive organisation and discipline ensured they stayed in front, while taking their opportunities clinically when they arose.
Navan closed out the game effectively to run out 24–8 winners, producing a mature all-round display that balanced attacking intent with defensive resilience.
The result sets up a final against Tullow RFC on the May Bank Holiday weekend at Energia Park (kick-off details to be confirmed).
Before that, Navan turn their attention to another major fixture as they face Wicklow RFC in the Leinster Youth Boys U17 Premier League Final this Saturday (25th April) at Boyne RFC, Drogheda (2:30pm).
Supporters are encouraged to get behind the squad as they continue an exciting run of form.
