19 Mar U13 Players Unforgettable 6 Nations Mascot Experience
Last Friday evening (6th March) will live long in the memory for Navan RFC Under 13 Boys player Freddie Davis, who had the incredible honour of representing his club on the international stage as a mascot at the Guinness Men’s Six Nations Championship round four clash between Ireland and Wales at the Aviva Stadium.
Freddie’s evening began in spectacular fashion as he lined out alongside Leinster, Ireland and British & Irish Lions prop Tadhg Furlong, walking onto the pitch in front of a packed stadium as part of the pre-match ceremony.
It was a moment of immense pride for the young Navan player, experiencing the electric atmosphere of international rugby from the centre of it all.
The occasion continued with Freddie taking part in the red-carpet presentation during the national anthems, where he was introduced to Uachtarán na hÉireann, Catherine Connolly, as well as the President of the Irish Rugby Football Union, Dr. John O’Driscoll.
Adding to what was already a remarkable evening, Freddie shared the experience pitchside with his father Johnny, making it a special family moment to treasure, topped off with Ireland winning the game 27-17.
