U16 Boys Make Statement Start with Opening Win

Navan RFC’s Under-16 boys kicked off their Leinster Youth Boys U16 Premier League campaign in sensational fashion on Saturday afternoon, delivering a commanding victory over Gorey RFC at Balreask Old.

Flying out of the blocks, Navan set the tone early with an explosive opening spell, racing into an outstanding 21–0 lead inside the first ten minutes. From there, the home side never relented, producing a performance full of intensity, skill, and cohesion across the park.

Strong defensive organisation ensured Gorey were kept scoreless throughout, while Navan’s attacking play continued to stretch the visitors with pace, power, and clinical finishing. The result was a dominant display from start to finish and a clear statement of intent in this highly competitive Premier League.

This emphatic opening-day win sets Navan up perfectly for a huge local derby next weekend, as the squad travel to face historic rivals Boyne RFC on Sunday 15th January, with kick-off at 12:30pm.
