Men’s Under 20 Friendly – Friday 5th September 2026

Dublin University 26 Navan 21, College Park, Trinity College Dublin.

Navan RFC Men’s Under-20s made the trip to Trinity College Dublin on Friday evening, September 4th, pushing a strong Dublin University side all the way in a thrilling 26-21 pre-season encounter at College Park.

In a fast-paced, high-intensity runout under the lights, Trinity ultimately edged out the contest by five points, outscoring Navan by four tries to three.

Despite the narrow defeat, the fixture proved to be an invaluable exercise for the squad as pre-season preparations intensify. Navan showed great resilience across the park, delivering particularly strong set-piece work and an eye-opening performance at scrum time against top-quality university opposition.

Young forward Jack Smith anchored a solid front-row performance on Friday night before backing it up 24 hours later with his Senior 1st XV debut off the bench against Monkstown!
