Sunday 12th April | Balreask Old

Navan RFC Women’s 1st XV produced a dominant display to defeat Balbriggan RFC 44–5 in the quarter-final of the Leinster Paul Flood Women’s Cup at Balreask Old on Sunday.

Running in eight tries, Navan showcased their attacking strength and depth to secure a comprehensive victory and book their place in the semi-finals.

From the outset, Navan set the tone with high tempo play and strong physicality, consistently breaking down the Balbriggan defence. Their ability to move the ball efficiently and capitalise on scoring opportunities proved the difference, as they built a commanding lead.

Despite Balbriggan’s efforts, Navan remained in control throughout, combining solid defensive work with clinical finishing to maintain their dominance across the 80 minutes.

Lauren Fitzpatrick delivered an outstanding performance, earning Player of the Match honours, sponsored by “The Central”.

The result sees Navan advance to a semi-final clash away to New Ross RFC next weekend, as they continue their pursuit of silverware in the competition.
