Navan RFC Women’s 1st XV booked their place in the Leinster Paul Flood Women’s Cup Final with an impressive 34–19 victory over New Ross RFC in a hard-fought semi-final clash on Sunday.
In what proved to be a physical and demanding encounter, Navan delivered a determined performance, showing both attacking quality and resilience to come away with a deserved win on the road.
Tries from Shona White (2), Sophia Murdock, Molly Fitzgerald and Ava Kiechler laid the platform for victory, while Anna Bolger added two conversions. Jackie Shiels also contributed with a penalty and a conversion to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Navan were made to work for every score, with New Ross providing a stern challenge throughout, but the visitors’ work rate and composure proved decisive in key moments.
Player of the Match Aoife Ryan delivered a standout performance, leading from the front and playing a pivotal role in securing the result.
The win sees Navan advance to the final, where they will face Edenderry RFC next Saturday (25th April) at Portlaoise RFC, with kick-off scheduled for 4:30pm.
