Navan RFC Women’s 3rd XV saw their season come to a close following a 31–7 defeat to West Offaly Lions in the opening round of the Leinster Division 5/6 Women’s Plate at Balreask Old on Sunday.
Facing a well-organised and clinical opposition, Navan worked hard throughout but were unable to match the visitors’ scoring efficiency, with West Offaly Lions crossing for multiple tries to take control of the contest.
Despite the result, Navan showed determination and commitment across the pitch, continuing to compete until the final whistle and reflecting the progress made by the squad over the course of the season.
Niamh Callaghan delivered an excellent individual performance and was named Player of the Match, sponsored by “The Central”.
While the defeat brings the campaign to an end, the team can take plenty of positives from their efforts and development, laying strong foundations to build on for next season.
