03 Jan Youth Players Shine in North-East Area Action
Navan RFC was proudly represented across both the Girls & Boys youths Leinster North-East Area squads in Leinster Rugby inter-area competitions on Friday (2nd Jan), with a strong turnout of club players showcasing their talent at provincial pathway level.
Sarah Robinson Cup
Ten Navan RFC Under-18 Girls players featured for the Leinster North-East team in their Sarah Robinson Cup clash with the North-Midlands in Mullingar. Despite a spirited and disciplined performance, the North-East side were edged out by a strong North-Midlands team, with the final score 27–12.
Leading the side as North-East captain was Navan’s Emma O’Rourke, who was joined by club teammates Tessa Flynn, Robyn Wall, Tati Garcia, Grace McWeeney, Cara Condra, Abby Kerins, Maggie Kerins, Amelia Lynch and Amelia Gillespie.
This level of representation is a fantastic achievement and reflects the strength of Navan RFC’s female youth pathway. The club is immensely proud of all the girls for their commitment, performance and continued development.

Shane Horgan Cup
Navan RFC also had strong representation in the Leinster North-East squad, who secured an impressive victory over North-Midlands 43-29 in the Shane Horgan Cup also played in Mullingar.
Navan Under-16 Boys players Evan Lynch, Sean Masterson, Jimmy Shorten (North-East Captain), Killian Fagan, Asanka Varney and Danny Farrell all lined out on the day, with Donnacha Ryan also part of the squad but unavailable through injury.
The performance was a credit to both the players and the wider North-East programme, underlining the continued progress of Navan RFC’s boys’ youth structures.
